Whether you’re looking for a cheesy rom-com (aren’t we all?), a clever drama, or something stupid to take your mind off the cold weather, Hulu has a ton of options to binge this season. Some, like Die Hard, are undisputed classics, while others, like Happiest Season, are new editions to the holiday movie lineup. But whatever mood you’re in, there’s truly something for everyone.
So grab a blanket, a warm drink, and settle onto the sofa for some much-needed down time. These are the eight best holiday movies to watch on Hulu right now.

1. The Family Stone
When Everett Stone (Dermot Mulroney) brings his uptight girlfriend (Sarah Jessica Parker) home for the holidays, she’s at the mercy of his rowdy family. Drama ensues, but ultimately it’s an uplifting viewing that gives everyone a satisfying ending. The stacked cast also includes Diane Keaton, Craig T. Nelson, Luke Wilson, Rachel McAdams, and Claire Danes.
2. Happiest Season
Clea DuVall‘s 2020 film Happiest Season was a welcome addition to the holiday rom-com canon, especially as it features a gay couple played by Kristen Stewart and Mackenzie Davis.
In the movie, Harper (Davis) brings her girlfriend (Stewart) home for the holidays, but hasn’t yet come out to her family. It’s a really sweet story with a great supporting cast that includes Alison Brie, Aubrey Plaza, Mary Steenburgen, and Dan Levy.
3. Jingle All the Way
Jingle All the Way is that hilarious movie from your childhood that deserves a nostalgic rewatch now.
The holiday comedy stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sinbad as two fathers who are in competition to buy a coveted Turbo-Man action figure for their sons. They’ll do truly anything to get it, which makes this as ridiculous as it is hilarious. This is a good one to put on while relaxing with the family over the Christmas break.
4. Die Hard
Yes, Die Hard is a Christmas movie. And thankfully it’s available to stream on Hulu this festive season. The 1988 action flick is one of the season’s absolute best watches thanks to Bruce Willis‘ hero John McClane and Alan Rickman‘s super villain Hans Gruber.
If you’ve somehow missed this one, now is the time to get onboard. It may not be a traditional Christmas viewing, but it’s a quintessential one.
5. Prancer
Millennial kids likely grew up watching Prancer, a heartwarming holiday film about a young girl who nurses a reindeer back to health.
Of course, she believes he’s one of Santa’s own reindeer, setting in motion a fantastical story about coming together with your family during Christmas. There is a slightly-less-good sequel, Prancer Returns, but unfortunately it is not available on Hulu.
6. 12 Dates of Christmas
Imagine Groundhog Day set on Christmas and you have 12 Dates of Christmas, a cheesy rom-com about a woman (Amy Smart) who keeps reliving a bad blind date.
It was released in 2011 as an ABC family original holiday film and it mostly holds up as an entertaining weekend watch. Just don’t try to make too much sense of it.
7. A Merry Friggin’ Christmas
Robin Williams and Joel McHale play father and son in this dark comedy, which was the first film with Williams to be released after his death. The pair is forced to undertake a long road trip to retrieve a forgotten gift and tension obviously ensues.
Lauren Graham, Candice Bergen, Tim Heidecker, and Wendi McLendon-Covey play other members of the family. This isn’t the warmest holiday flick, but it’s perfect for those with a slightly less cheerful view on Christmas.
8. Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Jim Carrey gamely plays the Grinch in this adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ famous children’s book, which is funny, sometimes scary, and ultimately heartwarming.
Come for Carrey, but stay for a young Taylor Momsen as Cindy Lou Who. The cast also includes Christine Baranski, Jeffrey Tambor, Molly Shannon, and Anthony Hopkins, who acts as its narrator.
