Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods Have Worked on Friendship for Over a Year

Kylie Jenner and ex-best friend Jordyn Woods’ big friend reunion dinner does not mark their first time talking in the four years since Jenner’s sister Khloé Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson cheated on her and kissed Woods. TMZ reports that Woods and Jenner have actually been working on their relationship for “over a year” in private.

Multiple sources close to Woods and Jenner said they’ve “been hanging out privately for a while.” This weekend was just the first time the two were seen publicly.

TMZ stressed that Kardashian never forced Jenner to end her friendship with Woods. Kardashian, of course, famously lashed out at Woods for kissing Thompson. In March 2019, after Woods’ Red Table Talk interview aired, where the then-21-year-old spoke about what happened, Kardashian tweeted, “Why are you lying @jordynwoods?? If you’re going to try and save yourself by going public, INSTEAD OF CALLING ME PRIVATELY TO APOLOGIZE FIRST, at least be HONEST about your story. BTW, You ARE the reason my family broke up!”

Woods had spoken in the interview about trying to apologize to Kardashian. “I did as much apologizing as I could do, over the phone, over text,” she said. “And until I get the opportunity to talk face-to-face, can she can really feel what I’m saying? but I reached out and the opportunity is there. I offered as much as I could. A lie detector test, anything. Whatever makes you feel better is what I want. But at least they know it’s there.”

In August 2019, Jenner unfollowed Woods on Instagram, publicly signaling the end of their friendship. A source told People then, “They have obviously not had a good friendship for months, but it seems Kylie never wanted to rush it and completely break away from Jordyn. Jordyn is very much trying to hang onto the world that she shared with Kylie. Kylie is just over it.”

“She wants to live as drama free as possible,” the source added. “She just doesn’t need Jordyn in her life. Unfollowing her on Instagram was kind of the last step to break away from Jordyn.”

Thompson went on to cheat on Kardashian again after the couple later reconciled. Their last breakup occurred after he impregnated a personal trainer while being secretly engaged to Kardashian. The trainer welcomed a baby boy with him in December 2021, while a surrogate was pregnant with Kardashian and Thompson’s second child, who was born in summer 2022.

Woods and Jenner’s sighting comes after Kardashian made headlines for discussing why she has forgiven Thompson for his multiple cheating scandals but has no interest in reconciling with him.

“Yeah, I forgive Tristan,” she said during an episode of The Kardashians that was released last week. “Doesn’t mean I forget what he’s done. I forgive Tristan for me because I’ve got to let that shit go. I need to for myself. I can’t move on with my life if I’m holding onto this bullshit.”
