This just in: King Charles is reportedly requesting Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, who will officiate Charles’ crowning ceremony, to help spark some sort of truce between Prince William and Prince Harry, so he can have both his sons under one roof for his coronation ceremony.
According to Daily Mail, this isn’t the first time Welby has served as a mediator between the two princes. He also stepped into the peaceful role following Queen Elizabeth’s death.
Sources close to the archbishop’s residence Lambeth Palace tell the outlet that Charles is hopeful that Welby can “broker a deal” with William that would permit Harry and wife Meghan Markle to attend his crowning ceremony at Westminster Abbey.
Sources say Charles is keen on Harry and Meghan being involved in Coronation Weekend as their absence “would be a greater distraction than their presence.” However, it is believed that William is not on the same page as his father.

Both Lambeth Palace and Buckingham Palace declined Daily Mail’s request to comment. Conversely, an insider close to the Prince of Wales denied “any such negotiations over the Coronation.” Meanwhile, representatives for the Duke of Sussex didn’t respond.
This is the latest development in the Harry-and-Meghan-coronation-invite saga.
On Jan. 24th, it was revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may possibly be left off the balcony coronation celebration guest list. The Buckingham Palace balcony has been an iconic fixture in royal British history since forever, from coronations to weddings to other major occasions. So, the institution would be sending a big message by not having Harry and Meghan part of those photos.
Since the release of the Harry & Meghan Netflix docuseries and Harry’s memoir, the couple’s invitation to King Charles’ coronation has been a hot topic of conversation: from will they be invited to if they are invited, will they even show up to a possibly partial invitation?
If they are welcomed, Harry has stood his ground that they will not show face unless a meeting with Charles and William is put on the calendar well beforehand. The Sussexes have made it very clear that they are open to resolving things peacefully, but do expect an apology from both the royals as well as the institution.
Meanwhile, UK journalists and royal experts say that it’s Harry who owes his relatives an apology given Spare’s contents. In the explosive memoir, Harry details past drug use, losing his virginity, his deployment to Afghanistan, quandaries within the palace, and his tumultuous relationship with William.
While some argue Harry went too far, the Duke is now revealing that the published version of Spare is 400 pages less than what he originally had in store.
“The first draft was different. It was 800 pages, and now it’s down to 400 pages,” he told The Telegraph. “It could have been two books, put it that way. And the hard bit was taking things out.”
Harry said that the anecdotes he did share about his father and brother were only the tip of the iceberg. However, had he included them he believes they could have been detrimental enough to shut the door on their relationship for good.
“There are some things that have happened, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don’t want the world to know. Because I don’t think they would ever forgive me,” Harry continued. “Now you could argue that some of the stuff I’ve put in there, well, they will never forgive me anyway.”
