Davina McCall opens up about having a ‘mid life crisis’

Davina McCall has revealed she believes it’s not just men who have a “mid life crisis” and question their marriages.

Davina, 52, made the candid admission during a chat with her new boyfriend, Michael Douglas, on the podcast they share together.

The TV star – who split from her husband of 17 years in 2017 – said, “I know lots of women who are at a stage in their life where they think, ‘Is this it?’

“It probably comes as no surprise that there are so many divorces between the age of 40 and 50. That’s the mid-life crisis where you’ll start asking yourself those questions: ‘Am I happy? Is this what I want? Where am I going? What am I doing? Who am I?’”

Davina and Matthew share three children – Holly, Tilly and Chester – and Davina said reality hits as they get older and more independent.

She added, “Because in those early years it’s all about family, the toddler years, everybody’s in it together. And then the toddlers start growing up, they don’t need you any more and then, who am I?”

While Davina is loved-up with her new boyfriend, the Long Lost Family star previously confessed her divorce from Matthew was “traumatic”.

Candidly speaking about it, the former Big Brother host told You magazine, “Going through a divorce is a traumatic experience and it is something that needs to be navigated as carefully as possible.

“Two years on, we have both grown as people, and we can now co-parent happily and acknowledge that it was the right thing for us to go through, even though it involved absolute emotional turmoil.”
